LEADER IN SECURITY SECTOR REFORM

The Horus Eye symbolises ‘well-being, healing, and protection’. This has been the ethos upon which Horus Global was founded. Our mission is to support governments and organisations to achieve sustainable, transformational change in building peace and security, underpinned by the development of human rights-based strategies and programmes. We achieve this through in-depth security, economic, social, cultural, and environmental analysis; the development and implementation of bespoke programmes based on international best practice; and supporting indigenous partners to achieve societal change, organisational restructuring, and the professional development of personnel. Horus Global’s team of experts have been working on complex international development and capacity building programmes for over 15 years managing the triumvirate of physical, personnel, and information security for clients.

Horus Global has grown successfully and exponentially and now brings together a multi-skilled team of internationally renowned subject matter experts who have excelled in helping respected governments, international public, and private organisations to improve the lives of people in fragile communities with long-lasting benefit.

Our legacy has already been felt in some of the harshest of environments and has made that difference where today families live in safer communities, have better opportunities, and are able to thrive in an uncertain world. Consequently, we can manage high-risk interventions because of our experiences delivering lasting results in fragile and conflict-affected states.

About us

What do we do?

Horus Global is ready to provide scalable assistance, advice, training, and longer-term mentoring to government ministries and other organisations who can bring about change for vulnerable people and communities. This change must be achieved through good governance; honestly, and ethically. All our training and mentoring programmes can be supported by curriculum, train-the-trainer initiatives, and doctrine development to support the institutionalisation of the capability within the partner organisations.

Horus Global also provides independent Monitoring, Research, Evaluation, and Learning (MREL) to major government programmes.  This service includes the development of a ‘Theory of Change’ and the development of metrics and Results Frameworks, with MREL experts to collate and analyse data to attain programme objectives and evidence-based learning.

Horus Global has the experience of applying international best-practice across the security sector (military and law enforcement), justice, and civic society to provide resilience and sustainable change for good. This must be locally viable and owned so that in the medium- to long-term, dependence moves away from outside help and communities take charge of their own futures.

What we do?

How do we work?

We approach our work harnessing our global experiences, but always ensuring that our solutions are locally contextualised. Initially, the drive must be top-down but equally must also be driven bottom-up so that communities understand and cooperate with the agreed solutions. This requires ‘road maps’, doctrine, processes, guidelines, and operational instructions to quantify and qualify what needs to be done to achieve success. This success can be measured against agreed outputs and outcomes to inform performance indicators through MREL processes.

Our assistance, advise, and training comes in many forms but does ensure ‘quick win’ approaches. Whether in formal training, workshops, on- and offline tutorials, one-2-one mentoring or remote sessions, everything is designed to achieve success efficiently and effectively, that is self-sustaining, developmental, and provides legacy.

Our ethics, trust, and understanding?

All communities and vulnerable persons can become victims. Gender-based violence can impact men, women, and children of any race, creed, or religion. This understanding is critical to seeing through the issues that divide countries, communities, and peoples.

Because of this understanding of the need for ethics, honesty, and trust, Horus Global can support the identification of donors and benefactors to fund programmes where appropriate.
